Our modellers need the March payslip from each of the last four years (March 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026) and your current payslip. March closes the NHS pension scheme year, so its year-to-date figures give a full year's pensionable pay in one place.
Sign in to ESR, open your payslips, and download the four March payslips and your latest one. It takes under a minute.
Your annual benefit statement shows the current value of your NHS pension, and it is the other thing our modellers need alongside your payslips. It is produced every year: in England and Wales inside your Total Reward Statement (TRS), in Scotland (where it is called the ABS-RSS) and Northern Ireland on the Engage portal.
Choose your nation, sign in, and download your latest statement.
Can't get one? Ask NHS Pensions with our NHSP01 template, or for a manual estimate with NHSP02.
Only needed if you might be at risk of tapering. Each summary shows one tax year's total income, tax-free income and the Income Tax and National Insurance you paid, which lets us check whether your annual allowance could be reduced.
Sign in with your HMRC (Government Gateway) account and open each year.
Each year is available once that year's tax return has been submitted, and drops off after 4 years.
Print each year to PDF (your browser's Print, then “Save as PDF”) to keep a permanent record — for your records, to use with our modellers, or to upload to PLUS.
Add your State Pension forecast to model your income in retirement. GOV.UK shows when you can get your State Pension and how much, based on your National Insurance record.
Sign in on GOV.UK and print or save your State Pension summary.
Print it to PDF (your browser's Print, then “Save as PDF”) to keep a permanent record of your forecast — for your records, to use with our modellers, or to upload to PLUS.
